ADAM NEWEY - CO-FOUNDER & HEAD OF RUGBY OPERATIONS.
Adam has been involved in coaching Rugby for the last 3 years at Burnage RFC U9s and U11s (having joined at U7 level) and the Manchester Rubies at U11/U12 level.
ERCA qualified he has direct experience with school delivery at EYFS, KS1 and KS2 levels. He possesses an up-to-date DBS check and has completed the RFU Safeguarding Course.
He has forged a partnership with rugby clubs in South Manchester to ensure a pathway for girls who want to continue their rugby journey once they can no longer play mixed-gender rugby with their home clubs.
Adam brings an infectious energy for all things rugby whether playing for his club or with his three children.
sean phillips - co-founder & director of rugby.
Sean has over 30 years experience in rugby. Ranging from amateur, semi-professional to the Elite, including being privileged enough to be involved in Heineken cup winning squads under the tutelage of coaches such as Warren Gatland and Shaun Edwards.
During his time in the professional ranks, Sean has been fortunate to have played with and against some of the best players to have ever played our game. This has allowed him to gain valuable insights and knowledge thus giving a great foundation to forge his own philosophy on numerous facets of the game.
Along his personal journey he had a daughter who now plays, this is one of the many reasons as to why he is extremely passionate about the growth and improvement of Women’s and Girls rugby across the Northwest. He is also heavily invested in this.
He is currently DOR of the Manchester Rubies 12-18 groups, on top of being involved with the Manchester RFC women’s coaching group to help coach defence, tackle and breakdown.
Sean is also on the Lancashire Girls DDP U16 group coaching staff for the 2024/25 season and Head coach for the Lancashire U18 girls.
During his career Sean represented, Saracens, Wasps, London Welsh and also went to 3 junior world cups with Ireland U19 and U21.
Sean is RFU Level 2 and is currently undertaking the Advanced coaching award. He also has an up-to-date DBS check.
